There is an old story about a traveler who went to Mexico as an explorer for his country. Upon his return he found that he could not quite explain what the country looked like to his king. Taking a piece of parchment the explorer crumpled it up and then opened it back out, placing it on a table. There, he said, pointing at the paper, is what the land of Mexico is like. For anyone thinking about Mexico vacations, the same point applies to you.

The land of Mexico is like no other. Or rather, it is like many others all rolled up in to one big and beautiful country. This country offers varieties that are simply mind boggling, and it would take lifetimes of holiday adventures to begin to see them all. Whatever it is that you are looking for, or hoping to discover, chances are it is in this enchanted land.

If you enjoy beaches and seas, this country has them in all sorts of varieties. There are white sand beaches as well as rocky shorelines almost inhospitable to visitors. It is situated with the Pacific Ocean on one side, and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. These are two very different bodies of water and offer may different uses.

Another thing this country offers plenty of, and plenty different types of, are mountains. From some of the highest ridges on the continent, to simple hills and dales for every day walking and hiking, this country provides it all. For the high altitude climber there are several serious peaks to consider. For the day hiker there are lovely regions and eco-tours are popular in many regions. Adventure hikes abound as well.

Maybe you are a city dweller, and like the joys and challenges of life in sprawling metropolitan areas. These, too, are in abundance. Some of the biggest and busiest, not to mention the most crowed and traffic jammed, cities in the world are in this country. For all of the amenities that the big city offers, the cities offer it all right here in country.

If you would prefer country styled touring, they have the absolute wilds of the desert to consider. There are landscapes that are still largely untouched by man, where nature is far too rugged to be tamed just yet. For the adventurous, there are still plenty of wild places left in this land. In fact, some areas are perhaps too dangerous and may take special permits and allowances for entry. Check with an agent if in doubt.

As far as getting there from any part of the world, it could not be easier. Flights are available to the country from all over the world. Due to the large metropolitan populations and the business associated with them, traveling in and out of the country is fairly trouble free with a valid passport. From the Americas there are bus lines, cars, and trains all along the border regions. Cruise ships ply the shores regularly. No matter how you like to travel, that mode will surely get you to Mexico. Exchange rates make it exceedingly affordable, too.

Mexico vacations can offer something for everybody. This is a land of such diversity that it could take a lifetime to explore just one aspect of it. It is very convenient for travel, and very conducive to travel. Most regions promote tourism and look forward to foreigners coming to visit. It is affordable, too, from anywhere in the world. Mexico is a true destination country for any serious about travel and holidays.
